To revive the fading touch of the family physician, the Medical Council of India(MCI) steps into the picture

• MCI has decided to initiate an MD course in family medicine
• An official statement to this effect was made by Dr H S Ballal, Pro Chancellor, Manipal University, Karnataka
• Dr Ballal said that the decision was made keeping in mind the tradition of the family doctor who gives guidance on different issues, practically a member of the family him/herself
