Indian Radiological & Imaging Association, which represents more than 12,000 radiologists across the country has shot off a letter to Zee news demanding unconditional apology for reporting false and misleading story about the cost of investigations.
The content of the letter is as follows,
“Dear Mr. Raghav,
This is distressing to see that your esteemed news channel has recently broadcasted the report about actual charges for Sonography as Rs 3 and X-ray as Rs 20/-, CT Scan Rs 500/- etc.
I would like to point out that this news report is false, misleading, mis-informative. This has created unnecessary and unwanted furrow. The ‘Indian Radiological & Imaging Association’, which is body of more than 12,000 Radiologists from all over the country having 24 state chapters, strongly objects to the content whosoever has provided to you. Such irresponsible reports and behaviour of your news channel has tarnished the image of Radiologists amongst the general public. How did you decide to show the news about rates of X-ray, CT, and Ultrasound etc. without checking the facts?
You are requested to take this news back immediately with unconditional apology. If we do not receive any reply from your side within seven days of receipt of this letter, we shall be constrained to take legal course of action for spreading wrong and malicious information and misguiding the local public and playing with the reputation of honest and sincere Radiologists.
With regards,
Yours sincerely,
(Dr. Jignesh Thakker) (Dr. Pramod Lonikar)
President Secretary General
Indian Radiological & Imaging Association”
