Indian Doctor conferred with Asian Pediatrician Award

Mangalore based pediatrician has been selected for the Outstanding Asian Pediatrician award 2018. The award is given by Asia Pacific Paediatric Association for the outstanding contribution to the field of pediatrics. Along with India, the Asia Pacific Paediatric Association has 26 countries, including Australia, Japan, China, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Dr. Santosh Soans is the third Indian so far to receive the Asian Pediatrician award. He is an experienced academic and practicing pediatrician. He is also a much-sought speaker at the national and International medical conferences. He has authored two books. Also, he has also published articles in various medical journals and made his contributions to the medical textbooks. A native of Kundapur, Dr. Soans is an alumnus of Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru, and Manipal. He is currently serving as the head of the department of pediatrics and the chief of NICU/PICU in AJ Institute of medical sciences, Mangalore. He’ll receive the award on August 28, at Peninsula Island in Nusa Dua-Bali, Indonesia. It coincides with the 16th Asia Pacific Congress of Paediatrics 2018, Ninth Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Paediatric Society and the sixth Asia Pacific Congress of Paediatric Nursing, to be held from August 23 to 29. Talking about the award, Dr. Santosh said, “I feel deeply humbled to be selected for this rare honor from Asia Pacific pediatric association. I am grateful to my family, colleagues, and friends who have supported me on my life journey. I dedicate this award to the resilience of the Indian pediatrician society, which continues to inspire me every day.’
