The MCI has given approval to three new medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh

• These colleges will start functioning with academic sessions for the year 2016-17
• The three colleges come under the jurisdiction of NTR University of Health Sciences at Vijawawada
• The colleges are: Gayathri Vidya Parishad Institute of Medical Care and Health Technology at Marikavalasa, Nimra Institute of
  Medical Sciences at Ibrahimpatnam and RVS Institute of Medical Sciences at Chittoor
• At present, the number of MBBS seats under the NTR University of Health Sciences is 3000. With the new colleges, 450 seats will be added

The MCI has expressed its satisfaction with the facilities of the colleges. The regulatory body has asked the colleges to comply with all the norms within three months and also for a Rs.2 Crore bank guarantee
