Last year alone 26 doctors were killed in Pakistan. Why you may ask. The reasons are many but here are a few.

• Militants see doctors as money bags, who they can kidnap and ransom for their terror fund.
• Doctors are respected members of society with low security, and thus are easy targets for terrorists.
• Sunni militant groups target Shiite Muslims. So doctors fearing for their lives in a lawless society, are either fortifying their office and home or  are leaving the country out of fear. This will leave the population of 190 million plus with fewer fewer and fewer doctors. A very grim future indeed.
