The National IMA Satyagraha for Healthy India will take place on Nov 16, 2015. The Satyagraha aims to summarize advocacy points for the Indian doctor community by securing the signatures of 11 lakh doctors

A recent study has shown that over 75% of doctors in India have faced some form of violence. A whopping 48% of which are from the ICU !  Putting these numbers into perspective- According to the National Health Profile 2015, there are 9.38 lakh registered doctrors in India today, 75% of this is approximately 7.03 lakhs who face some sort of violence. With an accute shortage of doctors in India to handle patient care, such acts of violence denigrates the entire country and brings shame to the medical profesion.

The Indian Medical Association

IMA is the largest medical association in the world with a membership of more than 2.5 lakh doctors over 30 state and 1700 local branches. IMA represents the collective consciousness of 935,165 doctors, yet it is not part of the decision making body at the government.
